Flatter and wider than spaghetti, but thinner than fettuccine, linguine (which comes from the Italian word meaning “little tongues”) is a long, flat pasta. Traditionally, linguine is served with pesto, but it’s also popular in seafood dishes, like the classicLinguine with Clam Sauce.
Don’t have it?
You can substitute another long, thin pasta.
How to prep:
As with most other pastas, cook linguine in generously salted boiling water until tender.
