by Yotam Ottolenghi
Ten Speed Press; $35
There are a few cookbook authors that I follow like a hard-core groupie, and Yotam Ottolenghi is one of them. He has the most beautiful ways with vegetables, and my family has happily eaten our way through his first vegetable-centric cookbook,Plenty. This sequel, also based on recipes from Ottolenghi’s eponymous London restaurants, hits the mark again. This time around, Ottolenghi focuses on his favorite techniques for vegetables, from roasting citrus to steaming eggplant to caramelizing rutabagas, which, in tandem with his inspired ingredient combinations and talent for layering texture in even the simplest dishes, makes this my must-have cookbook for 2015.
