In this series, Danielle convinces me that planting and growing onions is well worth the effort, so I’m willing to give it a try. Then, I’ll show Danielle how to cut onions so they’ll cook evenly for a a big batch of caramelized onions and demonstrate an easy appetizer/side dish that really showcases this sweet, robust cooks’ favorite.
Episode One: How to Plant Onions
Onions are notoriously hard to grow, but this year, I’m giving it a try with expert advice fromFine Gardening‘s Danielle Sherry. To start us off, Danielle shares a few farmers’ tricks for growing strong, more disease-resistant plants. Now, if my onions prove Juno-resistant as well, we’ll be roasting onions in no time.
